As co-organiser of the European Microfinance Award with the European Microfinance Platform and Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, we are excited to share the launch of the call for applications for the 2024 edition ‘Advancing Financial Inclusion for Refugees & Forcibly Displaced People ‘.
This year, the European Microfinance Award highlights organisations active in financial inclusion that help forcibly displaced people build resilience, restore livelihoods, and live with dignity in host communities.
Launched in 2005 to promote financial inclusion initiatives as an important tool for poverty alleviation, the European Microfinance Award of € 100, 000 for the winner and € 10,000 for the runners-up are granted by the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs – Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs.
The Award serves two parallel goals: rewarding excellence, and collecting and disseminating the most relevant practices for replication by others.
