Handicap International (HI) is an independent and impartial international solidarity organization that intervenes in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflicts and disasters. Working alongside people with disabilities and vulnerable populations, it acts and bears witness to meet their essential needs, improve their living conditions and promote respect for their dignity and fundamental rights.  

Hi works towards economic inclusion of vulnerable and marginalized population and poverty reduction through a 3-layer intervention approach:

• Response to immediate needs- ensuring that vulnerable population are able to cover their short-term needs through WASH; Shelter& NFI, Food assistance and MPA in any context.
• Economic Recovery and Transition from poverty ensuring that vulnerable population have the capacity to recover from shocks and graduate out of poverty
• Sustainable economic development – ensuring that vulnerable population are participating in the economic life of their society towards sustainable development

In the field of financial inclusion, HI Luxembourg works on advocacy, research/knowledge management, technical assistance.
